Who this is for
New believers who want a solid foundation to know the Word of God. Longtime Christians who were never actually taught the basics. Small group leaders who need something clear to hand out. If you have ever nodded along in church and quietly wondered what half of it meant, this is for you.

What this is
The Good Ground is a free discipleship curriculum for churches, small groups, and anyone who wants to understand what they believe. Every lesson is written to be printed, taught, and passed on. There is nothing to buy, no account to create, and no email required to download anything.
The first track, Grounded, is nine weeks on the core of the faith. Two more tracks are in progress.
What you get with every lesson
A lesson transcript written the way it would be taught. A printable student worksheet. And a PowerPoint presentation if you are teaching it to a room. Everything is licensed under Creative Commons, so you are free to copy it, adapt it for your group, and share it, as long as you give credit and pass on the same freedom.

Using it in a church or small group
Some churches run it as a nine-week new believers class. Some small groups work through one lesson a week around a table. Some people use it one-on-one over coffee, and some work through it alone at their own kitchen table. It holds up in all four.
You do not need to be a pastor or a scholar to teach it. If you are leading a group, the Leaders page walks through how to run it.
Who writes it
Kevin Thompson, a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and a volunteer teacher at a local church. This material grew out of teaching real people in a real room. More about the project.
